Kent Oliver Bhupathi
chief economist

Growing up with a keen interest in how people interact with their environments, I pursued a dual degree in Economics and Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, then earned a Master’s in Applied Econometrics at New York University. Ultimately, my foray into doctoral studies at Fordham University, with its emphasis on financial and macro‑econometrics, affirmed that I am most fulfilled when putting theory into practice through industry solutions.

Since then, and for the better part of the past 15 years, I have led applied research and analytical efforts as a senior practitioner in economic consulting, with a particular focus on commercial litigation and expert services across sectors including supply chain management, healthcare analytics and marketing sciences. This experience laid the groundwork for my return to Market Theory AI, the consultancy I co‑founded, where I continue to deliver data‑driven insight and decision support to both businesses and public audiences. In parallel, I remain committed to teaching through my appointment with the Indian School of Public Policy, where I lecture on statistics and economics, and my founding of Epsilon Executive Education — an upskilling and corporate training school for working professionals. Previously, I was an adjunct of data science and statistics at New York University and Columbia University.
